Zhono First to Address Firmware Upgrade Issues for Kyocera TK-3400 Series

Background

Kyocera released new firmware for the TK-3400 monochrome printer series on September 11, 2026 (website firmware: V05.05.0010; printer firmware: COT_S000.005.307). The update caused printers using compatible chips to display Non-genuine Toner (see Figure 1).

Zhono Solution

Zhono was the first to successfully manage the impact of the new firmware. The upgraded chips are now available for shipment.

The firmware update affects the following Kyocera models:

Kyocera Ecosys PA4500x/MA4500x/MA4500fx/MA4500ifx/MA4500ix/PA5000x/PA5500x/MA5500ifx/PA6000x/MA6000ifx.

Please contact your sales representative for upgraded chip replacement.

Note: The Kyocera TK-5370/TK-5380 color printer series remains unaffected by this firmware update.
